IEI is a multi-discipline consulting firm providing Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and Project Management Services.   Based out of New Mexico and Minnesota, IEI has served local and national clients for over 35 years.  Our mission is to protect our client's interests and to provide the best service possible.

The vast technical experience IEI has to offer in engineering, lighting design, fire protection, control systems, sustainable design, and construction services, gives us the ability to offer our clients cost-effective, real-world, solutions that work.  Our extensive design/build experience, as well as our ability to work directly with contractors, provides us a unique insight into the 'buildability' of our designs. 

Our diverse client base includes; Federal and Local Government, Commercial and Industrial Corporations, Renewable Energy Companies, Private Developers, Architects, Medical Institutions, Educational Facilities, and Water Treatment Plants.


IEI's founder, David Exe, is a Professional Electrical Engineer with over 50 years of experience that includes; Instrumentation and Control, Nuclear, Jet Engine Test Cell, Industrial and High Voltage Utility, as well as over 30 years of facility (commercial, retail, educational, & industrial) electrical design.

David is currently licensed in AZ, CO, MN, NM, OH, TX, WA, & WI.  He has previously held license in ID, IN, IA MI, MO, MS, NV, ND, OR, PA, SD, UT, & Canada. He also holds a NM Electrician's License & past Minnesota Master Electrician's License.

He is a member of the VFW (30+ yrs), American Legion (50+ yrs), Masonic Lodge (50+ yrs), Mensa & holds a private pilot license. David has previously been listed in virtually all of the Who's Who publications.
